New Photos Renew Questions About a Deadly Expedition on Aconcagua - The New York Times

Anther great tale of a tragic mountaineering expedition is that of Jon Krakauer. In his book, Into Thin Air, Krakauer recants his personal experience on the 1996 Everest disaster, in which eight climbers in Krarkauer's group died on the slopes of Mt. Everest after being caught in a blizzard. There is no other book like it in the world. Krakauer, an already established writer, mountaineer, and journalist brings a level of professional storytelling and first hand experience nobody else in the world is equipped to tell this story with. If you want to feel what it's like to be an expert in your field, prepare for everything to go right, only to experience it all fall apart in front of you in a way only a mountaineering disaster can, I recommend you buy this book.
